গতকালের পর আবারও তীব্র ভূমিকম্প (Earthquake) তাইওয়ানে (Taiwan)। রিখটার স্কেলে কম্পনের মাত্রা ৭.২। ইউএস জিওলজিক্যাল সার্ভে (USGS) জানিয়েছে, ভারতীয় সময় দুপুর ১২টা ১৪ মিনিটে তাইওয়ানের ইউজিং থেকে ৮৫ কিমি পূর্বে ভূমিকম্প আঘাত হানে। ভূমিকম্পের কেন্দ্রস্থল ছিল তাইতুং কাউন্টি। গতকাল রাতেও পূর্ব উপকূলে ভূমিকম্প হয়। রিখটার স্কেলে কম্পনের মাত্রা ছিল ৬.৪। ভূমিকম্পে কোনও ক্ষয়ক্ষতি বা হতাহতের খবর নেই এখনও পর্যন্ত। তাইওয়ানে আজকের শক্তিশালী ভূমিকম্পের পর জাপান সুনামি সতর্কতা জারি করেছে। তাইওয়ান নিয়মিত ভূমিকম্পের শিকার হয়, কারণ দ্বীপটি দুটি টেকটোনিক প্লেটের সংযোগস্থলের কাছে অবস্থিত।
