পঞ্চায়েত নির্বাচনের আগে হিংসা উপদ্রুত এলাকাগুলিকে ঘুরে দেখলেন পশ্চিমবঙ্গের রাজ্যপাল সিভি আনন্দ বোস। শনিবার দিনহাটার বিভিন্ন এলাকা ঘুরে দেখেন তিনি। এর পাশাপাশি কোচবিহারে হাসপাতালে দিনহাটায় হওয়া সংঘর্ষের ঘটনায় আহতদেরকেও দেখতে যান রাজ্যপাল। উত্তরবঙ্গ সফরের মধ্যে হাসপাতালে গিয়ে আহদের খোঁজখবর নেন তিনি।
এর আগে কেন্দ্রীয় মন্ত্রী নিশীথ পারমাণিকের সঙ্গে জেলার সার্কিট হাউজে সাক্ষাৎও সারেন তিনি। ২৭ জুন পঞ্চায়েত নির্বাচনকে কেন্দ্র করে ১ জন নিহত হয়। আহত হয় বেশ কয়েকজন। ভোটের আগে বিরোধী দলের কর্মীদের সঙ্গেও কথা বলেন রাজ্যপাল।
