মেঘভাঙা বৃষ্টির জেরে সিকিমে যখন ঘোরতর বিপর্যয় নেমে এসেছে, সেই সময় রাজ্যের বিভিন্ন জায়গাতেও চলছে এক নাগাড়ে বৃষ্টি। চলতি সপ্তাহের প্রায় প্রথম থেকে রাজ্য জুড়ে এক নাগাড়ে বৃষ্টি শুরু হয়েছে। যার জেরে এবার কার্যত বন্যা পরিস্থিতি তৈরি হয়েছে পূর্ব মেদিনীপুরে। একটানা বর্ষণে পূর্ব মেদিনীপুরের বগুই এবং কেলেঘাই নদীর জল উপচে পড়তে শুরু করেছে। ফলে বিভিন্ন এলাকা জলমগ্ন। বগুই এবং কেলেঘাইয়ের জল বাড়তে শুরুায় বহু মানুষ ঘরছাড়া। প্রসাসনের তরফে আশ্রয় শিবির গড়ে তোলা হয়েছে। প্রত্যেক মানুষকে যাতে নিরাপদে রাখা যায়, করা হয়েছে সেই ব্যবস্থা।
