বুধবার বারাসতে (Barasat) জনসভা শেষে সন্দেশখালির (Sandeshkhali) নির্যাতিতাদের সঙ্গে কথা বলেন প্রধানমন্ত্রী নরেন্দ্র মোদী (Narendra Modi)। আলোচনা শেষে এক মহিলা জানান, "আমরা প্রধানমন্ত্রীকে খোলাখুলি জানিয়েছি আমাদের ওপর কী অত্যাচার হয়েছে। উনি আমাদের সাহায্য করবেন বলে আশ্বাস দিয়েছেন। আমরা মুখ্যমন্ত্রীকে ভোট দিয়ে অপমানিত হয়েছি। উনি এখনও আমাদের সঙ্গে কথা বলেননি। কিন্তু প্রধানমন্ত্রী আমাদের কষ্ট শুনেছে। ওনাকে অনুরোধ করেছি যে আমাদের এলাকায় যেনো কেন্দ্রীয় বাহিনী থাকে, কারণ রাজ্যের প্রশাসন ব্যবস্থার ওপর আমাদের কোনও ভরসা নেই"।
