নিজের কপালে ব্যান্ডেজ নিয়েই সোমবার সকাল থেকে মেটিয়াব্রুজের গার্ডেনরিচের দুর্ঘটনাস্থল (Metiabruz Building Collapse) ঘুরে দেখলেন তিনি। সেখান থেকে হাসপাতালে আহতদের সঙ্গে দেখা করতে গেলেন মুখ্যমন্ত্রী মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায় (Mamata Banerjee)। আশ্বাসের হাত রাখলেন আহতদের মাথায়। রবিবার রাতে এলাকায় একটি নির্মীয়মাণ পাঁচতলা বহুতল ভেঙে পড়ে। সর্বশেষ পাওয়া খবর অনুযায়ী, ধ্বংসাবশেষের নীচে চাপা পড়ে মৃতের সংখ্যা বেড়ে হয়েছে ৪। আহত হয়েছেন অন্ততপক্ষে ১৩। এখনও আটকে কিছুজন। চলছে উদ্ধার কাজ। নিহত এবং আহতের সংখ্যা বাড়তে পারে বলে আশঙ্কা।
