স্বাস্থ্য ভবন থেকে বিকেলেই রওনা দিয়েছিলেন আন্দোলনরত চিকিৎসকরা। অবশেষে ৭টা নাগাদ কালীঘাটে পৌঁছলেন তাঁরা। বাসভবনে বিকেল থেকেই তাঁদের জন্য অপেক্ষা করছিলেন মুখ্যমন্ত্রী মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায় (CM Mamata Banerjee)। অবশেষে আর কিছুক্ষণের মধ্যে হতে চলেছে সেই বৈঠক। এই বৈঠকের আগে মুখ্যমন্ত্রীর তরফ থেকে মেইল করে ১৫ জনের প্রতিনিধি দলকে ডাকেন তিনি। কিন্তু চিকিৎসকরা নিজেদের দাবি থেকে প্রথম থেকেই অনড় ছিলেন। এক্ষেত্রেও তাঁরা জানিয়ে দেন ৩০ জনকেই বৈঠকে বসতে হবে। আর সেই দাবি নিয়েই ৩০ জন জুনিয়র চিকিৎসক স্বাস্থ্য ভবন থেকে কালীঘাটের উদ্দেশ্যে রওনা দিয়েছিলেন।
