মার্কিন যুক্তরাষ্ট্রের বড় কোম্পানিগুলিতে কর্মী ছাঁটাই অব্যাহত থাকল। বিশ্বের অন্যতম সবচেয়ে বড় চিপ মেকার ইন্টেল (Intel) খরচ কমাতে কর্মী সঙ্কোচনের পথে হাঁটাল। আমেরিকায় তাদের দুটি কেন্দ্রের অফিস মিলিয়ে ১৪০ জনকে ছাঁটাই করল ইন্টেল (Intel)।
কোম্পানির সান হোসের কেন্দ্রে ৫১ জন ও ক্যালিফোর্নিয়া কেন্দ্রের ফোলসোমের গবেষণা-উন্নয়ন কেন্দ্রে ৮৯ জন কর্মীদের বহিষ্কার করছে ইন্টেল।
