কেম্যান দ্বীপপুঞ্জে আয়োজিত বিশ্ব বক্সিং ফেডারেশনের সুপার ফেদারওয়েট বিশ্ব শিরোপা জিতলেন ভারতীয় মুষ্টিযোদ্ধা মনদীপ জাংরা । গতকাল সর্বসম্মত সিদ্ধান্তে তিনি ব্রিটেনের ৩১ বছর বয়সী কনর ম্যাকিনটোশকে ১০-০ পয়েন্টে পরাজিত করেন। এই জয়ের পরে মনদীপ প্রথম ভারতীয় মুষ্টিযোদ্ধা যিনি কোনও প্রো-বক্সিং ইভেন্ট বিভাগে বিশ্ব চ্যাম্পিয়ন হয়েছেন।
২০১৪ সালের গ্লাসগো সংস্করণে কমনওয়েলথ গেমসের রৌপ্য পদক জিতেছিলেন মনদীপ। তাঁর পর থেকে এখনও পর্যন্ত তার পেশাদার ক্যারিয়ারে শুধুমাত্র একটি পরাজয়ের সম্মুখীন হয়েছেন তিনি । তার ১২টি লড়াইয়ের মধ্যে ১১টিতে জিতেছেন এবং সাতটি নকআউট জয় পেয়েছেন।
