ভারী বৃষ্টির কারণে শ্রীলঙ্কার গল ইন্টারন্যাশনাল স্টেডিয়ামের (Galle International Stadium )একটি অস্থায়ী গ্র্যান্ডস্ট্যান্ডের (Makeshift Grandstand) ছাদ (Roof) ভেঙে পড়ল। যার কারণে শ্রীলঙ্কা এবং অস্ট্রেলিয়ার মধ্যে প্রথম টেস্টের দ্বিতীয় দিনের খেলা শুরু হতে দেরি হয়েছে। স্ট্যান্ড ভেঙে পড়ার সময় মাঠে কোনও দর্শক ছিল না, তবে অস্ট্রেলিয়ার দল কেবলমাত্র মাঠে পৌঁছেছিল।
