তিরন্দাজি বিশ্বকাপ ২০২৩-এর প্রথম রাউন্ডে সোনা জিতল ভারতীয় দল। শুক্রবার প্রথম রাউন্ডে রুপো জেতেন জ্যোতি সুরেখা ভেন্নাম ও ওজস প্রবীণ দেওতালে। ভেন্নাম ও দেওতালে সেমিফাইনালে মালয়েশিয়ার ফাতিন নুরফাতেহা মাত সালেহ ও মহম্মদ জুওয়াইদি মাজুকিকে ১৫৭-১৫৫ পয়েন্টে পরাজিত করেন। শনিবারের সোনার লড়াইয়ে ভারতীয় জুটির প্রতিপক্ষ চিনা তাইপের চেন ই-হুয়ান ও চেন চিয়ে-লুন। ২০২২ সালে অভিষেক ভার্মার সঙ্গে বিশ্ব গেমসে ব্রোঞ্জ ও প্যারিস বিশ্বকাপে সোনা জিতেছিলেন ভেন্নাম। ২০ বছরের ওজসের সঙ্গে এই প্রথম জুটি বাঁধছেন তিনি। এর আগে বিশ্ব রেকর্ড ৭১৩ স্কোর করে যোগ্যতা অর্জনকারী ভেন্নাম কম্পাউন্ড মহিলা এলিমিনেশনে ধরা ছোঁয়ার বাইরে এবং বৃহস্পতিবার চারটি নিশ্চিত জয় তুলে নিয়ে সেমিফাইনালে পৌঁছেছিলেন।
