হাঙ্গেরির এস ওয়াই এম এ (SYMA) স্পোর্টস অ্যান্ড কনফারেন্স সেন্টারে ৪৫ তম দাবা অলিম্পিয়াডে (Chess Olympiad) ওপেন বিভাগের সপ্তম রাউন্ডে চীনকে হারিয়ে দিল টিম ইন্ডিয়া। ভারতের দাবাড়ু ডোমমারাজু গুকেশ চীনের শীর্ষ খেলোয়াড় ডিং লিরেনের বদলি ওয়েই ইকে পরাজিত করে, ভারতকে চীনের বিরুদ্ধে তাদের সপ্তম রাউন্ডের টাই জিততে সাহায্য করে।
এই জয়ের পরে ৪৫তম দাবা অলিম্পিয়াডে ভারত সপ্তম রাউন্ড শেষে ওপেন ও মহিলা উভয় বিভাগেই এগিয়ে রয়েছে। ওপেন বিভাগে ভারত ২.৫-১.৫ ব্যবধানে চীনকে এবং মহিলাদের বিভাগে জর্জিয়াকে ৩-১-এ পরাজিত করেছে। সপ্তম রাউন্ড শেষে ভারতীয় পুরুষ এবং মহিলা উভয় দলই ১৪ পয়েন্ট করে সংগ্রহ করেছে। ওপেন বিভাগে আজ ইরান ও মহিলাদের বিভাগে পোল্যান্ডের মুখোমুখি হবে ভারত।
