৯ ডিসেম্বর অরুণাচল প্রদেশের (Arunachal Pradesh) তাওয়াং (Tawang) সেক্টরে ঢুকে পড়ে চিনের সেনা (PLA)। তাওয়াংয়ে ৯ ডিসেম্বর ফের চিনা সেনা এবং ভারতীয় বাহিনীর মুখোমুখি সংঘর্ষ হয়। ১২ ডিসেম্বর যে খবর প্রকাশ্যে আসার পর থেকেই চাঞ্চল্য ছড়ায়। ৯ ডিসেম্বরের ঘটনা নিয়ে মঙ্গলবার সংসদে বিবৃতি প্রকাশ করেন রাজনাথ সিং (Rajnath Singh)। তাওয়াংয়ে চিনা বাহিনীকে রুখে দেওয়া হয়েছে। ভারতীয় সেনার কোনও কর্মীরমৃত্যুর বা গুরুতর চোটের খবর নেই বলেও জানান রাজনাথ সিং। প্রতিরক্ষামন্ত্রীর ওই মন্তব্যের পর মুখ খোলেন কেন্দ্রীয় স্বরাষ্ট্রমন্ত্রী অমিত শাহ (Amit Shah)। তিনি বলেন, মোদী সরকার যতদিন ক্ষমতায় থাকবে, ভারতের এক ইঞ্চি জমিও কেউ দখল করতে পারবে না।
