কাল থেকে তাঁর আসনে বসবেন অন্যকেউ। আজ মঙ্গলবার শেষবারের মত নির্বাচন কমিশনের অফিসে এসেছিলেন রাজীব কুমার (Rajiv Kumar)। ভারতের নতুন মুখ্য নির্বাচন কমিশনার হচ্ছেন জ্ঞানেশ কুমার (Gyanesh Kumar)। হাসি মুখে নিজের দফতরকে বিদায় জানালেন রাজীব। বললেন, 'এই ভবনটি গণতন্ত্রের উপাসনার স্থান। গত ৭৫ বছরে কঠোর পরিশ্রমের মাধ্যমে এটি ঐতিহ্য অর্জন করেছে। আমি খুব আশাবাদী যে আগামী দিনে এটি আজকের চেয়েও উঁচুতে উঠবে। দক্ষ হাতে যাচ্ছে এই আসন। নতুন দল এটিকে আরও উঁচুতে নিয়ে যাবে। দেশের গণতন্ত্র শক্তিশালী এবং অক্ষত থাকবে এবং বিশ্বের কাছে সম্মানিত হবে। আমি আশা করছি মানুষ ভারতীয় গণতন্ত্র এবং ভারতীয় নির্বাচন ব্যবস্থা থেকে শিক্ষা নেবে এবং এটিকে স্মরণ করবে। যার পেছনে সবচেয়ে বড় অবদান ভোটার এবং রাজনৈতিক দলগুলির'।
