দেশের পরবর্তী মুখ্য নির্বাচন কমিশনার (Chief Election Commissioner) হচ্ছেন রাজীব কুমার (Rajiv Kumar)। আজই তাঁকে মুখ্য নির্বাচন কমিশনার পদে নিয়োগের কথা জানিয়েছে কেন্দ্রীয় আইন মন্ত্রক। সুশীল চন্দ্রের স্থলাভিষিক্ত হবেন রাজীব কুমার। ১৫ মে থেকে তিনি কার্যভার গ্রহণ করবেন। ২০২০ সালের সেপ্টেম্বর থেকে মুখ্য নির্বাচন কমিশনার পদে রয়েছেন সুশীল চন্দ্র। ১৪ মে তিনি অবসর নেবেন।
