দক্ষিণ কোরিয়ায় (President of the Republic of Korea) পরবর্তী রাষ্ট্রপতি হতে চলেছেন বিরোধী ডেমোক্র্যাটিক দলের প্রার্থী লি জে-মিয়ং ( Lee Jae-Myung)। লি-কে অভিনন্দন জানিয়ে আজ সকালে নির্বাচনে পরাজয় স্বীকার করে নিয়েছেন তাঁর প্রতিদ্বন্দ্বী তথা দক্ষিণ কোরিয়ার বর্তমান ও অন্তর্বর্তীকালীন রাষ্ট্রপতি কিম মুন সু। এই সংবাদের পরেই প্রধানমন্ত্রী নরেন্দ্র মোদী দক্ষিণ কোরিয়ার রাষ্ট্রপতি নির্বাচিত হওয়ায় লি জে-মিউংকে অভিনন্দন জানিয়েছেন। সোশ্যাল মিডিয়ায় একটি পোস্টে প্রধানমন্ত্রী বলেছেন যে তিনি ভারত-কোরিয়ার বিশেষ কৌশলগত অংশীদারিত্বকে আরও সম্প্রসারণ ও শক্তিশালী করার জন্য একসাথে কাজ করার জন্য অধীর আগ্রহে অপেক্ষা করছেন।
