৭৭তম স্বাধীনতা দিবসের সকালে জাতীয় পতাকা উত্তোলন করে লালকেল্লায় দাঁড়িয়ে জাতির উদ্দেশে প্রায় ৯০ মিনিট ভাষণ দিয়েছেন প্রধানমন্ত্রী নরেন্দ্র মোদী। বক্তব্যের শুরুতেই দেশবাসীকে নিজের পরিবার উল্লেখ করে সকল নাগরিক-সহ ভারতের শুভাকাঙ্খীদের অমৃত মহোৎসবের শুভেচ্ছাবার্তা জানিয়েছেন তিনি। স্বাধীনতা সংগ্রামীদের প্রণাম জানিয়ে ভারত যে বিশ্বের বৃহত্তম গণতন্ত্র তাও নিজের বক্তব্যে উল্লেখ করেন তিনি। ওই মঞ্চে দাঁড়িয়েই দক্ষতাসম্পন্ন ব্যক্তিদের জন্য আগামী মাস থেকে বিশ্বকর্মা প্রকল্প চালু করার কথা ঘোষণা করেন মোদি। এই প্রকল্পের জন্য ১৩০০০ থেকে ১৫০০০ কোটি টাকা বরাদ্দের কথাও ঘোষণা করেন তিনি।
