অলি প্রথম প্রধানমন্ত্রী নির্বাচিত হয়েছিলেন ২০১৫ সালে। এরপর ২০১৮ সালে আবার প্রধানমন্ত্রী নির্বাচিত হন।এরপর ২০২১ সালে দেশের পার্লামেন্টে অস্থিরতা বিরাজ করাকালীন, তখন অল্প সময়ের জন্য তাঁকে প্রধানমন্ত্রীর দায়িত্ব দেওয়া হয়।
প্রচন্ডকে সরিয়ে নেপালে চতুর্থবারের মতো প্রধানমন্ত্রী হলেন কে পি শর্মা অলি। নেপালের প্রেসিডেন্ট রাম চন্দ্র পাউডেল গত রবিবার তাঁকে প্রধানমন্ত্রী হিসেবে নিযুক্ত করেন। আজ (১৫জুলাই, সোমবার) শপথ গ্রহণ করবেন তিনি। ৭২ বছর বয়সী কে পি শর্মা অলি নেপালের কমিউনিস্ট পার্টির প্রধান। এবার তাঁর দল কমিউনিস্ট পার্টি অব নেপাল (ইউনিফায়েড মার্ক্সিস্ট-লেনিনিস্ট) ও বাম ঘরানার নেপালি কংগ্রেস পার্টির সঙ্গে জোট করে সরকার গঠন করেছে। অলি প্রথম প্রধানমন্ত্রী নির্বাচিত হয়েছিলেন ২০১৫ সালে। এরপর ২০১৮ সালে আবার প্রধানমন্ত্রী নির্বাচিত হন।এরপর ২০২১ সালে দেশের পার্লামেন্টে অস্থিরতা বিরাজ করাকালীন, তখন অল্প সময়ের জন্য তাঁকে প্রধানমন্ত্রীর দায়িত্ব দেওয়া হয়।
