২৪ বছর আগে এই দ্রাস সেক্টরে রক্তক্ষয়ী যুদ্ধের বিনিময়ে পাক অনুপ্রবেশকারীদের হাত থেকে ভারত ভূখন্ডকে রক্ষা করেছিলেন বীর ভারতীয় সেনা জওয়ানরা।
লাদাখ: প্রতিরক্ষা মন্ত্রী রাজনাথ সিং কারগিল বিজয় দিবসের সকালে দ্রাসে পৌঁছেছেন। ২৪ বছর আগে এই দ্রাস সেক্টরে রক্তক্ষয়ী যুদ্ধের বিনিময়ে পাক অনুপ্রবেশকারীদের হাত থেকে ভারত ভূখন্ডকে রক্ষা করেছিলেন বীর ভারতীয় সেনা জওয়ানরা। ১৯৯৯ সালের সেই কার্গিল যুদ্ধে প্রাণ হারানো শহিদ সেনাদের স্মৃতিতে তৈরি কার্গিল যুদ্ধের স্মৃতিসৌধে তিনি আজ পুষ্পস্তবক অর্পণ করলেন এবং তাঁদের প্রতি শ্রদ্ধা নিবেদন করলে ন।
