এই প্রথম কাশ্মীর বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের (Kashmir University) উপাচার্য (VC) হিসাবে নিযুক্ত হলেন এক মহিলা। হোম সায়েন্স বিভাগের অধ্যাপক নিলোফার খান (Nilofar Khan) বৃহস্পতিবার উপাচার্য হিসেবে নিযুক্ত হয়েছেন। অধ্যাপক তালাত আহমেদের স্থলাভিষিক্ত হলেন তিনি। রাজভবন থেকে জারি করা এক বিজ্ঞপ্তিতে বলা হয়েছে, নিলোফার খান তিন বছরের মেয়াদে এই দায়িত্ব নেবেন।
