ভারতের পাঞ্জাব, হরিয়ানা, উত্তরপ্রদেশ, মধ্যপ্রদেশ, রাজস্থান, হিমাচল প্রদেশ এর মত উত্তরাঞ্চলের রাজ্যগুলিতে মহিলাদের এই ব্রত করতে দেখা যায়।
বিবাহিত মহিলাদের কাছে করওয়া চৌথ খুবই গুরুত্বপূর্ণ ও সবচেয়ে বড় উৎসব। ১৩ অক্টোবর করওয়া চৌথ পালন করা হবে দেশজুড়ে। স্বামীর দীর্ঘায়ু কামনা করে এদিন নির্জলা থেকে উপবাস ও পুজো করেন মহিলারা। তার জন্য তাঁরা সুন্দর করে সাজেন, লাল শাড়ি পরেন। পুজোর প্রস্তুতি করেন। ভারতের পাঞ্জাব, হরিয়ানা, উত্তরপ্রদেশ, মধ্যপ্রদেশ, রাজস্থান, হিমাচল প্রদেশ এর মত উত্তরাঞ্চলের রাজ্যগুলিতে মহিলাদের এই ব্রত করতে দেখা যায়। সেই রাজ্যগুলো থেকেই করওয়া চৌথ ব্রত উপলক্ষ্যে বেঁচাকেনার ছবি এল সামনে।
