আমেরিকা (US) থেকে অস্ত্র কেনার পরিকল্পনা স্থগিত করল ভারত (India)। সেই সঙ্গে প্রতিরক্ষামন্ত্রীর মার্কিন সফরও বাতিল করা হয়েছে এই মুহূর্তে। অর্থাৎ ভারত যেমন এই মুহূর্তে আমেরিকা থেকে কোনও অস্ত্র কিনবে না, তেমনি প্রতিরক্ষামন্ত্রীও মার্কিন সফরে যাবেন না বলে সিদ্ধান্ত হয়েছে। সূত্রের তরফে মিলছে এমন খবর। রাশিয়ার কাছ থেকে তেল কেনায় ভারতের উপর ৫০% শুল্ক (Tariff) আরোপ করেছে আমেরিকা। যার জেরে ভারতের সঙ্গে আমেরিকার দ্বিপাক্ষিক সম্পর্ক ক্রমশ খারাপ হচ্ছে। এমনকী শুল্ক নিয়ে আলোচনা না হলে, ভারতের সঙ্গে কোনও ধরনের বাণিজ্য নিয়ে আলোচনা হবে না বলে মার্কিন প্রেসিডেন্ট জানান। ট্রাম্পের ওই ঘোষণার পর এবার আমেরিকা থেকে অস্ত্র কেনার পরিকল্পনা দিল্লির তরফে বাতিল করা হয়েছে বলে খবর।
