গত রবিবার থেকে এক নাগাড়ে বৃষ্টির জেরে হিমাচল প্রদেশে (Himachal Pradesh) নেমে এসেছে বিপর্যয়। গত ১৪ অগাস্ট শিমলার (Shimla) সামার হিল এলাকায় ধস নামলে, তা বড়সড় বিপর্যয়ের আকার নেয়। ১৪ অগাস্ট ধসের পর থেকে সামার হিল এলাকায় শুরু হয় জোর কদমে উদ্ধার কাজ। প্রায় আড়াই দিন পার করার পরও সামার হিল এলাকায় জোর কদমে উদ্ধার কাজ চলছে। এখনও পর্যন্ত ওই এলাকা থেকে ২১ জনের দেহ উদ্ধার করা হয়েছে। বিপর্যয় মোকাবিলাকারী দলের সঙ্গে একসঙ্গে হাত লাগিয়ে উদ্ধার কাজ শুরু করেন স্থানীয় মানুষ। স্থানীয়দের কথায়, সামার হিল এলাকায় এখনও ২১ জনের দেহ উদ্ধার করা হয়েছে। এমনই জানান শিমলার এসডিএম।
