যত সময় গড়াচ্ছে, তত এগিয়ে আসছে ঘূর্ণিঝড়ের (Cyclone Montha) ল্যান্ডফলের সময়। ঘূর্ণিঝড় মন্থা স্থলভাগে আছড়ে পড়ার আগেই শুরু হয়েছে মুষলধারে বৃষ্টি। সেই সঙ্গে ঝোড়ো হাওয়া। মন্থার ল্যান্ডফলের আগে অন্ধ্রপ্রদেশের কাকিনাড়া এবং সংলগ্ন স্থানগুলিতে যেমন আতঙ্ক ছড়িয়েছে মানুষের মনে, তেমনি মছলিপত্তনমেও সমুদ্র উত্তাল হয়ে উঠেছে।
মছলিপত্তনমের (Machilipatnam) যে মাঙ্গিনাপুরী সৈকত রয়েছে, সেখানে উত্তাল সমুদ্র। মাঙ্গিনাপুরী সৈকত থেকে স্থানীয়দের সরিয়ে দেওয়া হয়েছে। কেউ যাতে সমুদ্র উপকূলে না যান, সে বিষয়ে একাধিকবার সতর্কতা জারি করা হচ্ছে।
