২০২২ সালের ডিসেম্বর মাসেই মেঘালয় সফরে গিয়েছিলেন বাংলার মুখ্যমন্ত্রী মমতা বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায় এবং তৃণমূল সাংসদ অভিষেক বন্দ্যোপাধ্য়ায়। সেখানে এখন প্রধান বিরোধী দল তৃণমূল কংগ্রেস।
