বালেশ্বরে করমণ্ডল এক্সপ্রেসের দুর্ঘটনায় মৃত্যুর সংখ্যা বেড়েই চলেছে । এখনও পর্যন্ত মৃত্যু ছাড়িয়েছে ২৯০। আরও সংখ্যা বাড়তে পারে বলে আশাঙ্কা করা হচ্ছে। ভয়ঙ্কর এই দুর্ঘটনায় শোকপ্রকাশ করলেন দলাই লামা।
শুধু দলাই লামা নয় এর পাশাপাশি দেশ বিদেশের বহু নেতা ওড়িশার এই ভয়াবহ রেল দুর্ঘটনায় তাদের সমবেদনা জানিয়েছেন এবং পাশে থাকার বার্তা দিয়েছেন। ঘটনাস্থলে ইতিমধ্যেই পৌছেছেন নরেন্দ্র মোদী।
