রাজ্যে বহুগামিতা বন্ধ করতে উদ্যোগী হল বিজেপি শাসিত অসম সরকার। বৃহস্পতিবার রাতে এই বিষয়ে অসমের মুখ্যমন্ত্রী হিমন্ত বিশ্ব শর্মা টুইট করে জানান, তাঁর সরকার চার সদস্যের একটি বিশেষজ্ঞ কমিটি তৈরি করেছে।
রাজ্যে বহুগামিতা (Polygamy) বন্ধ করতে উদ্যোগী হল বিজেপি শাসিত অসম সরকার (Assam Government)। বৃহস্পতিবার রাতে এই বিষয়ে অসমের মুখ্যমন্ত্রী হিমন্ত বিশ্ব শর্মা (Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma) টুইট করে জানান, তাঁর সরকার চার সদস্যের একটি বিশেষজ্ঞ কমিটি (expert committee) তৈরি করেছে।
তারা খতিয়ে দেখবে অসম থেকে বহুগামিতা বন্ধ করার আইন নিয়ে আসার মতো আইনি ক্ষমতা (legislative competence) রয়েছে কিনা রাজ্য বিধানসভার (state legislature)। ৬০ দিনের মধ্যে কমিটিকে এই বিষয়ে বিস্তারিত রিপোর্ট জমা দেওয়ার নির্দেশ দেওয়া হয়েছে।
