চলে গেলেন প্রখ্যাত প্রবীণ অভিনেতা জোয়ে টারকেল। ক্যালিফোর্ণিয়ার সান্টা মনিকার সেন্ট জনস হাসপাতালে দেহত্যাগ করেন তিনি, মৃত্যুর সময় তাঁর বয়স হয়েছিল ৯৪ বছর।
স্ট্যানলি কুবরিকের সাথে করা তিনটি ছবি দ্য কিলিং, পাথস অফ গ্লোরি এবং দ্য শাইনিং (The Killing, Paths of Glory and The Shining) তাঁকে দর্শকদের কাছে বিশেষ পরিচিতি প্রদান করে। এছাড়াও ১৯৮২ সালে তিনি ব্লেড রানার (Blade Runner) ছবিতে এলডন টাইরেলের চরিত্রেও অভিনয় করেন।
