Gujarat: উচ্চতা কম হওয়ায় ডাক্তারি পড়তে বাধা! আইনি পথে নিজের স্বপ্নপূরণ করলেন ৩ ফুট উচ্চতার গণেশ
উচ্চতা কম হওয়ায় মেডিক্যাল কাউন্সিল অফ ইন্ডিয়া (Medical Council of India) গণেশকে ডাক্তারি পড়ায় বাধা দেয়।
নয়াদিল্লি: শারীরিক উচ্চতা কম হওয়ায় নিজের স্বপ্ন ভেঙে চুরমার হতে বসেছিল গণেশ বারাইয়ার (Ganesh Baraiya)। গুজরাটের ভাবনগরের বাসিন্দা ২৩ বছর বয়সী গণেশের শারীরিক উচ্চতা ৩ ফুট। তিনি ২০১৮ সালে মেডিক্যাল কলেজে ভর্তি জন্য আবেদন জানান, ভর্তির জন্য তাঁর শিক্ষাগত যোগ্যতা থাকা সত্ত্বেও শুধুমাত্র উচ্চতা কম হওয়ায় মেডিক্যাল কাউন্সিল অফ ইন্ডিয়া (Medical Council of India) তাঁকে ডাক্তারি পড়তে সুযোগ দেয়নি। তবে গণেশ হাল ছাড়েননি, তিনি অবশেষে আইনি পথে হাঁটেন।
বিষয়টি গুজরাট হাইকোর্ট থেকে সুপ্রিম কোর্টে পৌঁছয়। সেখানে গত ২২ অক্টোবর ২০১৯ সালে গণেশ ন্যায়বিচার পান। পক্ষে রায় দিয়ে তাঁকে ভাবনগরে ভর্তির অনুমতি দেওয়া হয়। তারপর তিনি নিজের স্বপ্নপূরণের লক্ষ্যে এগিয়ে যান। অনেক বাধা পেরিয়ে লড়াই করে নিজের অধিকার অর্জন করে নেওয়া গণেশ আজ এমবিবিএস ডিগ্রি অর্জন করে গুজরাটের একটি সরকারি হাসপাতালের চিকিৎসক ডা. গণেশ বড়ইয়া (Dr Ganesh Baraiya) হয়ে উঠেছেন।
