ভারত-পাকিস্তানের সংঘর্ষবিরতির যাবতীয় কৃতিত্ব তিনি নিতে চেয়েছেন। মার্কিন প্রেসিডেন্ট ডোনাল্ড ট্রাম্প আরও একবার ভারত-পাকিস্তানকে একই সারিতে রাখলেন। ট্রাম্প এদিন বললেন, " আমরা পাকিস্তানের সঙ্গে অনেক ব্যবসা-বাণিজ্য করব। আমরা ভারতের সঙ্গেও অনেক ব্যবসা-বাণিজ্যও চালাব। ভারতের সঙ্গে এখন আমরা ব্যবসায়িক বিষয়ে আলোচনা করছি। খুব তাড়াতাড়ি এই বিষয়ে পাকিস্তানের সঙ্গেও আলোচনায় বসব। পহেলগামে জঙ্গি হামলার পর মার্কিন প্রেসিডেন্ট ট্রাম্প সরাসরি জানিয়েছিলেন, ভারত ও পাকিস্তান-দুই দেশেই তার খুব ভাল বন্ধু। গত শনিবার ভারত-পাকিস্তান সংঘর্ষ বিরতির কথা মার্কিন প্রেসিডেন্ট ট্রাম্পই সবার আগে জানিয়েছিলেন।
