ব্রিটিশ (British) তরুণ প্রজন্মকে ধূমপান থেকে বিরত করার লক্ষ্যে ঐতিহাসিক ‘ধূমপান নিষেধাজ্ঞা চুক্তি’ সম্প্রতি ব্রিটেন পার্লামেন্টে পাশ হয়েছে। প্রধানমন্ত্রী ঋষি সুনকের কনজারভেটিভ পার্টির মৌখিক আপত্তি সত্যেও গতকাল বিলটির পক্ষে ৩৮৭ এবং বিপক্ষে ৬৭টি ভোট পড়ে। টোবাকো অ্যান্ড ভেপ্স’ (The Tobacco and Vapes Bill) নামে এই বিলে ২০০৯-এর পয়লা জানুয়ারির পর যাদের জন্ম, তাঁদের কারো কাছেই তামাকজাত সামগ্রী বিক্রি করা যাবে না বলে নিষেধাজ্ঞা জারি করা হয়েছে।
