বৃহস্পতিবার মালদ্বীপ (Maldives) থেকে সিঙ্গাপুরে (Singapore) উড়ে যান গোতবয়া রাজাপাক্ষে (Gotabaya Rajapaksa)। মালদ্বীপ থেকে সৌদির বিমান ধরে সিঙ্গাপুরে পালিয়ে যান শ্রীলঙ্কার প্রেসিডেন্ট। গোতবয়া রাজাপাক্ষে মালদ্বীপ থেকে সিঙ্গাপুরে উড়ে যাওয়ার পর ফের এ বিষয়ে শোরগোল শুরু হয় আন্তর্জাতিক মহলে। বিষয়টি নিয়ে এবার মুখ খোলা হল সিঙ্গাপুর বিদেশ মন্ত্রকের তরফে। সিঙ্গাপুরের তরফে জানানো হয়, গোতবয়া রাজাপাক্ষে ব্যক্তিগত সফরে সে দেশে হাজির হয়েছেন। সিঙ্গাপুর সরকারের কাছে তিনি আশ্রয় চাননি। কিংবা সিঙ্গাপুরে তাঁর আশ্রয়কে সরকারি সিলমোহরও দেওয়া হয়নি বলে সে দেশের বিদেশ মন্ত্রকের তরফে জানানো হয়। প্রসঙ্গত শ্রীলঙ্কা থেকে গোতবয়া রাজাপাক্ষে মালদ্বীপে চম্পট দিতেই জনরোষ বাড়তে শুরু করে। তবে গাতবয়া রাজাপাক্ষেকে নিয়ে মালদ্বীপ সরকারের তরফে কোনও মন্তব্য করা হয়নি।
