হামলার ২০ বছর পূর্তিতে বিশেষ স্মরণ সভার আয়োজন ইউএন কর্তৃপক্ষের তরফে
বাগদাদে ইউএন এর হেডকোয়াটারে হামলার ২০ বছর পূর্তিতে স্মারক অনুষ্ঠানের আয়োজদন করা হল ইউএন কর্তৃপক্ষের তরফে। ২০০৩ সালে বাগদাদে এই হামলার জেরে প্রাণ হারিয়েছিলেন ২২ জন মানুষ। যার মধ্যে অন্যতম ছিলেন ইউএন স্পেশাল প্রতিনিধি সার্জিও ভিইয়েয়রা ডি মেলো।
১৯ অগাস্ট ২০০৩ সালে এই বিস্ফোরনের ঘটনা ঘটে। বাগদাদের কানাল হোটেলে। নিহতের পাশাপাসি আরও ১০০ জন আহত হয়। ২০০৮ সাল থেকে এই দিনটিকে মানবিক দিবস হিসেবে জেনারেল এসেম্বলির তরফে পালন করা হয়।
