কয়েকঘন্টা হল বিধায়ক পদ থেকে ইস্তফা দিয়েছেন তৃণমূল নেতা তাপস রায় (Tapas Roy)। দলীয় নেতৃত্বের ওপর একরাশ ক্ষোভ উগড়ে দিয়ে দল ছাড়ছেন তিনি। আর তাঁর এই সিদ্ধান্তকে কড়া ভাষায় সমালোচনা করলেন সাংসদ শান্তনু সেন (Santanu Sen)। তাঁর মতে, "তাপস রায় বলছেন তিনি নাকি কোনও দলে থেকে কোনও গুরুত্ব পাচ্ছেন না। কিন্তু এটা লোকসভা নির্বাচনের দিন ঘোষণার ১৫ দিন আগে কেন মনে হল? তৃণমূল আপনাকে মন্ত্রী বানালো, ডেপুটি চিফ উইপ, অর্গানাইজেশনাল চিফ বানানো হয়েছিল। আর তারপর কীভাবে আপনি আপনার মতাদর্শ পাল্টালেন? ইডি হানার পর হয় আপনি ভয় পেয়েছেন, নাহলে অন্য দল থেকে আপনাকে বড় অফার দেওয়া হয়েছে"।
