ঘূর্ণিঝড় (Cyclone) রেমাল (Remal) ভূভাগে আছড়ে পড়তেই কলকাতার একাধিক এলাকা জলমগ্ন হয়ে পড়তে শুরু করে। রেমালের দাপটে শহর কলকাতার বিভিন্ন অংশ জলমগ্ন হতেই, বড় বড় গাছ উপড়ে পড়ে। রেমাল ভূভাগে আছড়ে পড়ার পর কলকাতার রাজ্যপাল সি ভি আনন্দ বোস ঘর থেকে বেরিয়ে আসেন। টাস্ক ফোর্সের সঙ্গে দাঁড়িয়ে উপড়ে পড়া গাছ কাটানোর ব্যবস্থা করতে দেখা যায় রাজ্যপালকে।
