সম্প্রতি শেষ হওয়া নদীয়ার কালিগঞ্জ বিধানসভা উপনির্বাচনে জয়ী তৃনমূল কংগ্রেস প্রার্থী আলিফা আহমেদ আজ বিধায়ক হিসাবে শপথ নেন। রাজ্য বিধানসভার নৌসর আলি কক্ষে তাকে শপথ বাক্য পাঠ করান অধ্যক্ষ বিমান বন্দ্যোপাধ্যায়। অনুষ্ঠানে পরিষদীয় মন্ত্রী শোভনদেব চট্টোপাধ্যায়, তৃনমূল কংগ্রেস পরিষদীয় দলের মুখ্যসচেতক নির্মল ঘোষ, মন্ত্রীসভার সদস্য চন্দ্রিমা ভট্টাচার্য, ফিরহাদ হাকিম, মলয় ঘটক, প্রদীপ মজুমদার ছাড়াও অন্যান্যরা উপস্থিত ছিলেন। উল্লেখ্য তার পিতা নাসিরুদ্দিন আহমেদের মৃত্যুতে শূন্য হওয়া এই আসনে উপনির্বাচনে আলিফা তার নিকটতম প্রতিদ্বন্দী বিজেপি প্রার্থী আশিষ ঘোষকে ৫০ হাজারের বেশি ভোটে হারিয়ে জয়লাভ করেছিলেন।
