বাইশবারের গ্র্যান্ড স্ল্যাম চ্যাম্পিয়ন রাফায়েল নাদাল হিপ ফ্লেক্সর চোট কাটিয়ে ফের টেনিস কোর্টে ফেরার প্রস্তুতি নিয়েছেন। ৮ এপ্রিল থেকে শুরু হতে যাওয়া মন্টে কার্লো মাস্টার্সে অংশ নেওয়ার জন্য চুক্তিবদ্ধ হয়েছেন তিনি। অস্ট্রেলিয়ান ওপেনের দ্বিতীয় রাউন্ডে আমেরিকার ম্যাকেঞ্জি ম্যাকডোনাল্ডের কাছে হারের পর থেকে কোর্টে অনুপস্থিত ছিলেন নাদাল। ইন্ডিয়ান ওয়েলস মাস্টার্স এবং মায়ামি ওপেন থেকে নাম প্রত্যাহার করে নিয়েছিলেন এই স্প্যানিশ তারকা। মন্টে কার্লো মাস্টার্সের ১১৬ তম সংস্করণটি প্রথম বড় ইউরোপীয় টুর্নামেন্ট, যা মন্টে-কার্লো কান্ট্রি ক্লাবের কিংবদন্তি কোর্টে মরসুম শুরু করে। আগামী ৭ এপ্রিল মূল ড্রয়ের আয়োজন করা হবে। স্তেফানোস সিতসিপাসের (Stefanos Tsitsipas) উপস্থিতিতে অনুষ্ঠিত হবে এই ড্র। গত বছর টানা দ্বিতীয় সিঙ্গলস খেতাব জিতেছিলেন স্তেফানোস।
