বুদাপেস্টে বিশ্ব অ্যাথলেটিক্সে আবার সোনা জয় জ্যাভলিন থ্রোয়ার নীরজ চোপড়ার। সেই সাফল্যে একের পর এক শুভেচ্ছা বার্তা উপচে পড়ছে নীরজ চোপড়ার বাড়িতে। নীরজ চোপড়ার বাবা সতীশ কুমার ছেলের সাফল্যের প্রসঙ্গে খুশি। এ প্রসঙ্গে তিনি জানান, "দেশের ইতিহাসে এটি একটি বড় সাফল্য, সে এখন দেশের ছেলে। সে দেশের জন্য খেলে"।
পাকিস্তানের আর্শাদ নাদিমকে কড়া প্রতিদ্বন্দ্বীতার মধ্যে পেছনে ফেলে প্রথম ভারতীয় হিসেবে সোনা জয় করেন নীরজ চোপড়া। ছেলের সাফল্যে খুশি মা সরোজ দেবীও।
