তরুণ সহকর্মীদের জন্য পথ তৈরি করতে বুধবার অধিনায়কের পদ থেকে সরে দাঁড়ালেন পাকিস্তান মহিলা ক্রিকেট দলের অধিনায়ক বিসমাহ মারুফ। ২০২৩ সালে দক্ষিণ আফ্রিকায় অনুষ্ঠিত আইসিসি মহিলা টি-টোয়েন্টি বিশ্বকাপ শেষ হওয়ার পরই অধিনায়কের পদ থেকে সরে দাঁড়ানোর সিদ্ধান্ত নেন তিনি। বুধবার বিসমাহর পদত্যাগপত্র গ্রহণ করেন পাকিস্তান ক্রিকেট বোর্ডের (Pakistan Cricket Board) প্রধান নাজাম শেঠি। এর আগে ২০২২ সালে নিউজিল্যান্ডে অনুষ্ঠিত একদিবসীয় বিশ্বকাপে পাকিস্তানের হতাশাজনক পারফরম্যান্সের পর নেতৃত্বের অগ্রগতি নিয়ে প্রশ্ন উঠেছিল। তবে পিসিবি মারুফের প্রতি আস্থা প্রদর্শন করে এবং ২০২২-২৩ মরসুমের জন্য তাকে অধিনায়ক হিসেবে বহাল রাখে। এখনও পর্যন্ত ১৭ বছরের কেরিয়ারে ১২৪টি একদিনের ম্যাচে ৩১১০ রান করেছেন বিসমাহ। ১৩২টি টি-২০ ম্যাচে ২৬৫৮ রান করেছেন তিনি।
