সম্প্রতি ফ্লোরিডায় (Florida) জীববিজ্ঞানীদের একটি দল সবচেয়ে ভারী বার্মিজ পাইথন (Burmese Python) ধরেছেন। মহিলা পাইথনটির ওজন ২১৫ পাউন্ড। এটি লম্বায় প্রায় ১৮ ফুট। বিকাশকারী ডিম ছিল, দক্ষিণ-পশ্চিম ফ্লোরিডার কনজারভেন্সি এক বিজ্ঞপ্তিতে জানিয়েছে, শেষবার এই পাইথনটি একটি গোটা হরিণ খেয়েছিল। পাইথনটিকে বাগে আনতে প্রায় ২০ মিনিট সময় লেগেছে বন কর্মীদের।
