ঘটনায় ২ জনের মৃত্যুর পাশাপাশি একটি বাইককেও নষ্ট করে দেয় হাতিটি
পশ্চিমবঙ্গের ঝাড়গ্রামে হাতির আক্রমনে মৃত্যু ২ গ্রামবাসীর। মৃতের নাম যথাক্রমে আনন্দ জানা এবং শশধর মাহাতো।নিহতরা নয়াগ্রাম পুলিশ স্টেশন এলাকায় বাসিন্দা বলে জানা গেছে।
বিষয়টি সত্যতা নিশ্চিত করে খড়গপুর বনবিভাগের শিবানন্দ রাম জানিয়েছেন, ২ জনকে মেরে ফেলার পাশাপাশি একটি বাইককে নষ্ট করে দেয় হাতিটি। জানা গেছে বুধবার সকালে একটি বাচ্চা হাতি সুবর্ণরেখা নদী পার করার সময় ডুবে যায়, সঙ্গে ছিল ১১ টি হাতি । তারা চলে গেলেও মা হাতিটি সেখানেই থেকে যায় এবং রাগে বিভিন্ন জায়গায় আক্রমন এবং ভাঙচুর চালায়। যে কারণে ২ জন মারা যায়।
