শীতের আগে হাজির হল কয়েক হাজার পরিযায়ী পাখি (Migratory Birds)। তামিলনাড়ুর (Tamil Nadu) ভেত্তানগুড়িতে (Vettangudi Bird Sanctuary) যে পাখিরালয় রয়েছে, সেখানে কয়েক হাজার পরিযায়ী পাখি এসে ভিড় জমাতে শুরু করেছে। থিরুপাথুর এবং মাদুরাইয়ের নিকটবর্তী পাখিরালয় হল ভেত্তানগুড়ি। এবার তামিলনাড়ুর সেই পাখিরালয়ই পরিযায়ী পাখিদের অস্থায়ী ঠিকানা হয়ে উঠেছে। দেখা যাচ্ছে এমন ছবি। দীর্ঘ ৪০ হেক্টর জমির উপর যে পাখিরালয় গড়ে উঠেছে, সেথানে শীতের আগে রংবেরংয়ের পাখি এসে হাজির হচ্ছে। শীতের পরিযায়ী পাখিদের দেখতে তাই মানুষ হাজির হচ্ছেন ভেত্তানগুড়িতে।
