বর্ষশেষে চরম ভোগান্তি রেল যাত্রীদের। দেশজুড়ে শৈত্যপ্রবাহ ও কুয়াশার কারণে থমকে গেছে রেল পরিষেবা। ভারতীয় রেলওয়ের তরফে জানানো হয়েছে কুয়াশার কারণে প্রায় ৩০টি ট্রেন দেরিতে চলছে। এই ট্রেনগুলির মধ্যে রয়েছে কর্ণাটক এক্সপ্রেস, যোগাযোগ ক্রান্তি, তেজস রাজধানী, লখনউ মেল, উনচাহার এক্সপ্রেস এবং অন্যান্য। রেলওয়ের তরফে জানানো হয়েছে যে এই ট্রেনগুলি তাদের নির্ধারিত সময়ের থেকে সর্বনিম্ন ৩০ মিনিট এবং সর্বাধিক চার ঘন্টা দেরিতে চলছে।কুয়াশার কারণে দৃশ্যমান্যতা কমে যাওয়ার ফলে ট্রেন দেরিতে চলছে বলে রেল কর্মীদের একাংশ জানান।
