ভারতে (India) প্রথম মাঙ্কিপক্স (Monkeypox) সংক্রমণের ঘটনায় চাঞ্চল্য ছড়িয়েছে। ভারতে মাঙ্কিপক্স সংক্রমণের কয়েক ঘণ্টার মধ্যে বিবৃতি জারি করল বিশ্ব স্বাস্থ্য সংস্থা (WHO)। হু-এর তরফে জানানো হয়, দক্ষিণ-পূর্ব এশিয়ায় প্রথম মাঙ্কিপক্স ধরা পড়ল ভারতে। আরব আমিরশাহি থেকে বছর ৩৫-এর ব্যক্তি ভারতে ফেরার পর তাঁর শরীরে সংক্রমণ ধরা পড়ে বলে জানানো হয় হু-এর তরফে।
