যে দেশের কাছে যত বেশি সোনা, তেল এবং হীরে থাকে, তারা তত বেশি ধনবান হয়। সোনা, তেল এবং হীরে সঞ্চেয়ের নিরিখে সেই দেশের অবস্থান বিচার করা হয়। আর এবার চমকে ওঠা তথ্য সামনে এল। পরিসংখ্যান বলছে, ভারতীয় মহিলাদের কাছে যে পরিমাণ সোনা রয়েছে, তা আমেরিকা, ইতালি, রাশিয়া, জার্মানি, ফ্রান্সের মহিলাদের কাছে নেই। অর্থাৎ সোনা সংরক্ষণের নিরিখে ভারতীয় (Indian Women) মহিলারা বিশ্বে সর্বোচ্চ জায়গা ধরে রেখেছেন। তথ্য অনুযায়ী, ভারতীয় মহিলাদের কাছে ২৪ হাজার টন সোনা গচ্ছিত। সরকারি হিসেব অনুযায়ী ২৪ হাজার টন ভারতীয় মহিলাদের কাছে সোনা রয়েছে। যা গোটা বিশ্বের মহিলাদের কাছে গচ্ছিত সোনার ১১ শতাংশ। আমেরিকা (US), রাশিয়া (Russia), ফ্রান্স (France), জার্মানি (Germany), ইতালির (Italy) মত উন্নত দেশের চেয়ে কয়েক গুন বেশি সোনা রয়েছে ভারতীয় মহিলাদের কাছে। আমেরিকায় গচ্ছিত সোনার পরিমাণ ৮,১৩৩ টন। জার্মানিতে ৩,৩৬২ টন। ইতালিতে ২,৪৫১ টন। ফ্রান্সে ২,৪৩৬ টন। রাশিয়ায় এই পরিসংখ্যান ২,২৯৮ টন। অর্থাৎ নিজেদের কাছে ব্যক্তিগতভাবে সোনা রাখার যে পরিসংখ্যান বিশ্বব্যাপী, তাদের সর্বাগ্রে রয়েছেন ভারতীয় মহিলারা।
