পশ্চিমবঙ্গ পঞ্চায়েত নির্বাচন ঘোষণার দিন থেকে মনোনয়ন পর্ব ও প্রচার পর্ব জুড়ে রাজনৈতিক সন্ত্রাসের বলি হয়েছেন বিভিন্ন দলের নেতা কর্মীরা। কিন্তু সব কিছুকে ছাপিয়ে নির্বাচনের সকালেই প্রাণ হারালেন আরও তিনজন। জানা গেছে এরা প্রত্যেকেই তৃণমূল কংগ্রেস দলের সদস্য। তাঁদের মৃত্যুতে কেন্দ্রীয় বাহিনী নিয়ে প্রশ্ন তুলেছেন তৃণমূল নেতৃত্ব। টুইটে তারা লিখেছেন- "...রেজিনগর, তুফানগঞ্জ এবং খড়গ্রামে আমাদের দলের তিনজন কর্মীকে খুন করা হয়েছে এবং ডোমকোলে বন্দুকের গুলিতে দুজন আহত হয়েছে। পশ্চিমবঙ্গ বিজেপি, পশ্চিমবঙ্গ সিপিআই(এম) এবং পশ্চিমবঙ্গ কংগ্রেস দাবি করছে সেন্ট্রাল ফোর্সের উপস্থিতি। তাহলে, যখন সেন্ট্রাল ফোর্সের সবচেয়ে বেশি প্রয়োজন হয় তখন তারা কোথায় থাকে?..."
