নয়াদিল্লি: তামিলনাড়ুর পাম্বান সেতু (Pamban Bridge) ভারতের প্রথম উল্লম্ব-উত্থানযোগ্য (vertical-lift) সেতু, যা রামেশ্বরম দ্বীপকে মূল ভূখণ্ডের সাথে সংযুক্ত করে। এই সেতুটি ভারতীয় উপকূলরক্ষী বাহিনী (Indian Coast Guard) এবং মাছ ধরার জাহাজগুলির জন্য খোলা হয়, যাতে তাঁরা পাম্বান খাল (Pamban Channel) পারাপার করতে পারে। সেতুর মাঝখানের অংশটি উল্লম্বভাবে ১০০ ফুটেরও বেশি উঁচুতে উঠে যায়। এর ফলে জাহাজগুলি নির্বিঘ্নে খাল পার হতে পারে। আরও পড়ুন: Dam Bursts Video: বাধ ফেটে ভয়ঙ্করভাবে প্লাবিত তিরুপতির এই গ্রাম, দেখুন ভিডিয়ো
