গুজরাটের ঐতিহ্যবাহী গরবা নৃত্যকে হেরিটেজ স্বীকৃতি দিল ইউনেস্কো (UNESCO)। ৭ ডিসেম্বর গুজরাটের গরবা নৃত্য (Garba Dance)-কে ঐতিহ্যবাহী নৃত্য স্বীকৃতি পাওয়ার কথা ঘোষণা করেছেন গুজরাটের মুখ্যমন্ত্রী ভূপেন্দ্র বাঘেল। ইউনেস্কোর এই স্বীকৃতি পাওয়ার পর স্বাভাবিকভাবেই উচ্ছ্বসিত দেশের সকলেই। এই স্বীকৃতি পাওয়ার পর ভারতীয় প্রবাসী সদস্যরা নিউইয়র্কের টাইমস স্কোয়ারে (New York's Times Square) গারবা নৃত্য পরিবেশন করেছে।
