আসন্ন রথ উপলক্ষে দেশলাইের কাঠি দিয়ে তৈরি হল জগন্নাথ, বলভদ্র ও সুভদ্রার মূর্তি। রথও তৈরি হল ওই দেশলাইয়ের কাঠি দিয়ে। পুরীর শিল্পী শাশ্বত রঞ্জন সাহু ( Saswat Ranjan Sahoo) জানান, "আমি তিনটি রথ ও মূর্তি তৈরি করতে মোট ৪ হাজার ৮৩০টি দেশলাই কাঠি ব্যবহার করেছি। সবমিলিয়ে শিল্পকর্ম সম্পূর্ণ করতে আমার সময় লেগেছে ১৮ দিন।"
