মুম্বই বিমানবন্দরে ভিনদেশী পাখিদের চোরাচালান রুখল কাস্টমস বিভাগ (Mumbai Customs Department)। উদ্ধার হল তিন ভিন্ন প্রজাতির মোট ৭টি পাখি,সেই সঙ্গে গ্রেফতার এক ব্যক্তি। জানা যাচ্ছে, এর মধ্যে একটি নর্থ আইল্যান্ড সেডেলব্যাক, দুটি ম্যাগনিফিসেন্ট রিফলবার্ড এবং চারটি লেসর বার্ড অফ প্যারাডাইসকে উদ্ধার করতে পেরেছে মুম্বই কাস্টমস জোন থ্রি-এর আধিকারিকরা। আধিকারিকরা জানিয়েছেন, তাঁরা আগে থেকে গোপনসূত্রে খবর পেয়েই নিরাপত্তা বাড়িয়েছিল বিমানবন্দর চত্বরে। অবশেষে বুধবার এক ব্যক্তি সহ একটি ব্যাগেজের মধ্যে থেকে পাখিগুলিকে জীবিত অবস্থায় উদ্ধার করা হয়।
