উত্তরপ্রদেশের (Uttar Pradesh) বহরাইচে চিতাবাঘের (Leopard) হানা। স্থানীয়দের উপর হামলা। খাবারের সন্ধানে প্রায়শই বন্য জীবজন্তুরা লোকালয়ে প্রবেশ করে। ব্যতিক্রম হয় চিতাও। বহরাইচ (Bahraich) জেলার কাতারনিয়াঘাট বন্যপ্রাণী বিভাগের আওতাধীন সুজাউলি করিকোট এলাকার একটি গ্রামে ঢুকে পড়ে তাণ্ডব চালাচ্ছে চিতা। হিংস্র প্রাণীর আক্রমণে আহত হয়েছে ছয়জন এলাকাবাসী। গোটা গ্রামজুড়ে আতঙ্ক ছড়িয়েছে। চিতার হামলায় আক্রান্তদের স্থানীয় হাসপাতালে চিকিৎসা চলছে। এক গ্রামবাসীর উপর হামলার দৃশ্য ক্যামেরাবন্দিও করেন এলাকবাসী। লাঠিসোঁটা নিয়ে তাড়া করে গ্রামবাসীরাই চিতাকে এলাকা ছাড়া করতে সক্ষম হয়েছে। তবে ফের এলাকায় চিতার প্রবেশের আশঙ্কা রয়েছে। তাই স্থানীয় বন্যপ্রাণী কর্তৃপক্ষকে সতর্ক করা হয়েছে।
